What's up with thigh highs?

You may have noticed some changes...

• "Thicc Thigh Highs" have been renamed to "Thigh Highs".
• "Slim Thigh Highs" have been renamed to "Old Version"
• Both sizes have been consolidated into a "Thigh High" menu listing.

There are reasons for the change and it came about from a long process and period of consideration.  I cannot express just how much I overthink this stuff 😅.

For ease of communication, I'll keep calling them "Thicc" and "Slim" for this article.

Size Limitations
The "slim" range is essentially really long knee socks, they have a very narrow group of people they fit well, for the majority of people they are either tight, or they don't fit at all.

Our "Thicc" range was intended as a solution to this, to fit larger people.  To our surprise, there ended up being a large overlap in the size ranges with only a very small amount of people finding the "Thicc" range to be too loose.  This range can be supplemented with garters to make them cover almost the entire range of the "Slim".

(We're working on a slim thigh garter that can be added to your order for close to cost price <3)

Sales Statistics Don't Lie (nerd shit)
Because of this, there has been a dramatic drop off in the sales of the Slim size and a massive increase in the sales of the "Thicc" size.  So much so, that the viability of the "Slim" range has been called into question.  Purchasing stock that will sit around for months means that we have to pay for storage and capital is stuck in a poor performing product, when it would be better invested in a range expansion of a well performing product.  This is exacerbated when you are starting to expand two ranges that mostly cover the same demographic.  It simply doesn't make sense.

Language Issues and Optics
The terms "Slim" and "Thicc" were used for the Thiccstarter campaign to highlight that it was for an entirely new product.  We had to differentiate. Unfortunately the terminology that worked well for the Thiccstarter, has led to confusion (and in some cases hurt feelings) when viewed out of context.

- Confusion from thinking the terms refer to the weight of the material.

- Hurt Feelings from a place of body dysmorphia - it can kinda sound like we're implying that "Thicc" socks are only for plus sized people when they actually fit most people.

We don't want to confuse people and we are all about body positivity, so neither of those things - while not intentional - are ideal.

The Timing
We've had a bit of a perfect storm of USA drama, production drama, rapidly increasing expenses and the occasional fuck up on my part which has caused our stock levels to get dangerously low.  If we don't have stock, then we can't sell stock and we can't order more stock.

But a situation like this is the perfect time to review your range, decide if you need to change your offering and what needs updating.

So we're doing that, making our range lean and mean so we can rebuild stock levels faster and continue to expand the range with monthly drops.

Change is Hard
I recognise and appreciate that it's not nice when something you take as a constant changes, that's why we don't often do dramatic changes to our range.  I really hope you can try our nice stretchy Thigh Highs because I just know that you will more than likely fall in love with how comfy they are and how easily they pull all the way up.
