We are delighted to be in the position to partner with artists. It is important to us that artists are paid fairly - they are the lifeblood of our community.
Collaborating artists supply a concept and ideas are bounced back and forth until a final design is reached.
Exposure isn't currency, but it sure helps, so we add their logo to both the product and the product listing. We provide links and tags to guide our customers to the talent behind the design, and the artist typically shares links to the product with their community, leading to a mutually beneficial blending of our communities. We also encourage the artist to supply business cards, flyers or other promotional material that we can include with orders free of charge.
Actual currency is also on the table. We give the artist a set amount per pair ordered (not sold). Payment is up front when we order a batch of stock and there are no conditions in place, sales are entirely at the risk of Angy Paws - the artist gets paid whether they sell or not. The artist is also able to order personal stock at a Wholesale rate so they can sell them at events where they are vending.
It's not just a one off thing either, every time we order a new batch, the artist gets paid again, and again, and again. As long as they keep selling, they will keep getting paid for their work.
